Inspirational 3-D effect pendant in Hallmarked 9 carat Yellow Gold, depicting Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who was beatified by Pope John Paul II in October 2003.This serene round medallion-style pendant measures approx 22mm in diameter, and weighs approx 5.9g. Mother Teresa's face is shown in profile, wearing a habit, a striking image formed in high relief in a satin finish. Surrounding her image are the words "M.Teresa di Calcutta", bordered by a mirror-finish reflective edging.Born on 26 August 1910, Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun of Albanian descent, who founded the Missionaries of Charity in India. Her work amongst the poverty-stricken of Kolkata(Calcutta) made her world-famous, and she was also known for her books about Christian spirituality and prayer. She was the only person to be featured on an Indian postage stamp while still alive. Her supporters often referred to her as the "Angel of Mercy" or "Saint of the gutter".
